(TAP) – Criticized for arrogance, lack of charm, abuse of power, and distorting Southern Vietnamese culture, Tran Thanh have once again been invited to perform on US.
According to an announcement on the Casino Entertainment fan page in November last year, Tran Thanh and the cast of the film Bo Tu Bao Thu (including Le Giang, Le Duong Bao Lam, etc.) will hold a musical program titled The Galaxy Show in March 2025. On February 28, the page confirmed that the live show will take place in 4 casinos in US.
Recently, Tran Thanh has been accused of frequent scandals, shocking statements, arrogance and contempt for the audience. For instance, in 2023, the film Dat rung Phuong Nam (an adaptation of a classic work) faced significant controversy. On October 15, 2023, The Vnexpress newspaper (Vietnam) reported that the film Southern Forest Land was criticized for 'distorting history'. With Tran Thanh allegedly involved in the screenplay and acting, the movie was criticized for spreading misleading information about the culture and history of Southern Vietnam. Beyond cultural insensitivity, Tran Thanh has repeatedly garnered public backlash for his exaggerated emotional outbursts, frequently lamenting the hardships of being an artist while blaming audiences for being overly critical. This, despite his privileged position as one of the most financially successful entertainers. On March 24, 2023, the VTC News published an article about Tran Thanh complaining about his "hard to swallow" profession, citing a series of comments from great artists about the profession such as Thanh Loc, My Tam, Son Tung MTP,... These people all said that these sacrifices were insignificant because they chose the profession and they received benefits from it.

In 2016, after being criticized for his overacting and poor acting in the adapted play "To Anh Nguyet Remix", which disrespected the original work and destroyed its traditional artistic value, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports administratively fined Tran Thanh VND32.5 million for performing without permission and distorting the content. In addition, his television programs were also restricted for a period of time, according to Tuoi Tre newspaper (Vietnam).
In 2017, when criticized by the audience for acting in a bad way, Tran Thanh defiantly responded that television is for everyone and that dissatisfied viewers just need to change the channel. This news was compiled by The Dan Viet newspaper (Vietnam), a collection of Tran Thanh's slip-ups.
Dan Viet newspaper (Vietnam) also reported on Tran Thanh’s controversial singing ability. Despite his limited singing voice and lack of professional skills, Tran Thanh still confidently stepped onto the stage and even acted as a judge, giving questionable advice to the contestants.
Another name causing public discontent is actress Le Giang, who is also part of this live show. Recently, she stirred controversy by reacting negatively to audience criticism of Bo Tu Bao Thu, essentially dismissing the right of paying viewers to express unfavorable opinions about the film. On February 2, 2025, Znews newspaper (Vietnam) reported on Le Giang's scandal and the opinions of artists and on social networks. Artists commented that Le Giang should be happy and forget it. However, there were still other opinions that did not agree with Le Giang.
As Tran Thanh and Le Giang continue to face backlash and boycotts from audiences in Vietnam, they continue to perform in the US.
